WHAT IS THE HEIRLOOM BAZAAR?
 

* The Heirloom Bazaar is "Craig's List" style portal created to connect buyers and sellers.

* The sale-purchase transactions i.e. payment and shipping, are conducted directly between the Buyer and the Seller.

* Sellers pay only a one-time registration & set-up fee.

STEP 1: APPLICATION & APPROVAL OF SELLERS
1a. At the bottom of this page there is a link to "Join as a Seller" to apply.
1b. In the application, we ask for a confirmation of identity using Facebook and LinkedIN accounts that are at least 2 years old and have sufficient viewable information to confirm good standing.
1b. To ensure that The Heirloom Bazaar is the right fit for Sellers, a few additional questions may be asked if needed.

STEP 2: REGISTRATION & SET-UP SELLER
2a. A One-time registration fee of $10
is payable upon approval.
This initial fee is charged to ensure that we host only serious sellers.
2b. Once the payment is received, the Seller's page is set up on The Heirloom Bazaar
2c. A guide is sent to the approved seller and the seller can now begin listing heirlooms.

STEP 3: LISTING AN ITEM
3a. NO LISTING FEES
3b. The listing is valid for 1 month and may enjoy complimentary extensions.
3c. To list an item, the seller logs in and from the Seller's page, adds a product listing by uploading photos, description & price on the online form provided.
If the technology overwhelms you and you'd like help in uploading, you are welcome to use our optional Virtual Assistant service for a nominal fee of $10 per listing. All you need to do is email us the photos, the description and the price and the virtual assistant will do the rest.
3d. Once the details have been uploaded, a payment request for the Listing Fee is sent to the Seller.
3e. After receiving the payment The Heirloom Bazaar enhances the listing, prepares it for easy searchability and  publishes the listing. Fresh listings are published within a week on the following Tuesday or Saturday.
3f. Select listings are also posted / shared on sister websites

for increased exposure.

STEP 4: MARKETING
4a. All listings enjoy standard exposure through traffic to the whole website.
4b. Some listings may enjoy complimentary additional exposure on social media such as Pinterest, Instagram & Facebook at the discretion of the administrators.
4b. Optional 'Paid Promotions' that draw traffic to your specific listing are also available on request.

 STEP 5: BUYER'S INQUIRY
5. All listings have a prominent action button to CONTACT THE SELLER.
The Seller's email is placed on the listing as additional information.
Communication occurs directly between Seller & Buyer.

NOTE: THE ROLE OF THE HEIRLOOM BAZAAR ENDS AT THIS POINT.

SALE & PURCHASE / PAYMENT FOR GOODS / SHIPPING OF GOODS
The processes of
- Communication
- Negotiation
- Payment &
- Shipping
are not conducted on The Heirloom Bazaar website
These financial transactions and transfer of properties are done directly between the Seller & the Buyer independently and without the knowledge / involvement of The Heirloom Bazaar.
No commission is charged by The Heirloom Bazaar on the final transaction value.

Can a Seller remain anonymous?

Yes, but the process and the terms are different. Please write in to discuss.

I am not tech-savvy - Can I send you the photos & description? 

Yes, we offer Virtual Assistant services at $10 per listing.

How do you ensure that the Sellers & Buyers are genuine?

At The Heirlooms Bazaar we hope to provide a high-quality curated service that works well for both buyers and sellers.

All Sellers must provide a Facebook / LinkedIn profile that is at least 2 years old. This ensures that the participants are verifiable real people.

Buyers & Sellers are then encouraged to contact each other, and get to know each other through, gain each other's trust and establish confidence prior to transacting.

 What Fees do Sellers pay?

Once approved, sellers pay a one time set-up fee to create a dedicated page.
This also allows us to filter in only serious Sellers.

For every listing sellers pay a listing fee.

Other optional fees apply for additional services if required.

How many items can a Seller list:

A registered Seller may list any number of artworks.

How do you ensure the quality of the listings?

A guide is provided to all sellers at the time of registration, outlining the listing requirements for photos & description.

Every listing will be assessed for photo quality and description details before it is published and corrections recommended before the listing is published.

This creates a standardised understanding across all listings on The Heirlooms Bazaar.

What can Sellers expect from the Listing?

Sellers can expect exposure with a targeted niche audiences of textile art lovers.

a) The listing will receive standard coverage alongside all of the other items in the gallery.

b) In addition, to the details the Vendor provides, we add other details to enhance the basic searchability of the listing.

c) We may also add research notes and reviews to highlight noteworthy aspects.    

d) Select listings may be added to sister websites for additional exposure.

Can we request additional paid marketing services?

Optional Promotions are available and are encouraged for artworks that are either of exceptional quality or are very good bargains.

What happens when a Buyer is interested in a listed item?

The "Contact Seller" button placed on every listing encourages prospective buyers to email the Seller and initiate a discussion with the Seller.

The Seller's email ID is visible to all visitors directly.

All communication, price negotiation, payment & shipping dealings 

are conducted SOLELY between the buyer and seller

and The Heirloom Bazaar is not a part of these processes. 

Buyers communicate with the Sellers directly.

Buyers pay the Sellers directly.

Sellers ship to their Buyers directly.

The Heirloom Bazaar is "Craig's List" style portal created ONLY to connect the community of textile art lovers.

The actual sale-purchase, payment and shipping are conducted outside the The Heirloom Bazaar.

Do you guarantee that listings will result in sales?

We only provide a platform for listing and offer exposure.

Whether the item sells or not depends on many factors and so there is no way to guarantee that the item will sell.

However we promise to put in our best marketing inputs towards encouraging the sales of your items.

How soon can we expect enquiries to come in from buyers?

The answer to this question is not known.

It could take months or a few days.

If the item is of a popular category, if the photographs are appealing and if the price is attractive results could be sooner.

The Heirloom Bazaar will bring traffic to the web-gallery but arousing the buyer's interest depends entirely on the listing.

When the item sells do Sellers pay a commission to The Heirloom Bazaar?

NO commission is to be paid on the final sale value.

The Seller sets the price and keeps all of the earnings.

The Seller pays The Heirloom Bazaar only for

1) the initial set-up

and

2) any additional optional services

3) any optional promotions

NOTE: JOINING AS BUYER & JOINING AS A SELLER ARE NOT THE SAME

AS THEY HAVE DIFFERENT FUNCTIONALITIES.

SO IF YOU HAVE REGISTERED AS A BUYER AND WISH TO SELL  NOW,

YOU WILL HAVE TO REGISTER AGAIN AS A SELLER.
