STEP 1: TAKING PHOTOS

Remember that the photos you list are the single-most important factor in a buyer's decision making process.

Photos should be recently taken photos and must reflect the textile as it is at the time of listing.

1.1 If possible make the textile crease-free.
1.2 Find a suitably large space to stage the textile.
1. 3 Remove all clutter, choose a floor / wall / background cloth that makes the textile look good.
1.3 Layout the textile in a way such that the complete textile is seen.
1.4 If needed enlist the help of another to hold the textile up.
1.5 Photos should be presented in the following six views:
a. Complete front
b. Complete back
c. Top half
d. Bottom half
e. Close-up showing threads / weave / stitches.
f. Focus on the special features of the piece.
Multiple photos of 'f' are desirable
1.6 Phone photos are fine too
1.7 Professional photographers take over a dozen shots of each view and  finally select and use only 1. In the age of digital photos this costs nothing. So do take many photos of a single view and then select the sharpest and the best looking.

 


STEP 2: LOGIN WITH YOUR SELLER ID

After your login with your Seller ID you will see this screen:

STEP 3. UPLOAD IMAGES

UPLOAD YOUR PHOTOS ONE AT A TIME USING THE BOX SHOWN BELOW:

STEP 5. FILL OUT THE FORM
The rest of the form fields are simple. All marked with an asterisk are
required and the system does not accept the submission unless the fields have been filled.

5.1. TITLE OF YOUR LISTING

Try and coin a title that describes what your listing is about - you could include region of origin or craft or format. The name is the important to get the viewer's attention so try to be as clear as possible without making the title too long.

5.2. DESCRIPTION LISTING

 Every written word adds a bit of flavour to the browsing experience of the buyer. So put in as much detail as you can. The origin, the colors, the dyes and the features that make it worthy of acquiring. Any cultural symbolism or explanation of motifs that you know about should be included.

5.3 PRICING

Put in a price in US$ that you wish to sell at. Prospective Buyers may ask for discounts so factor that in. Please also factor in Paypal charges and any other charges that may be unique to your situation. Different people sell for different reasons - some want to cover costs, some want to make profits and others just want the textile to move to a loving home so that it is cared for. Interest from Buyers depends largely on the listed price.

As this platform is only for listing, prospective buyers will reach out to you to confirm buying price and payment arrangements.

5.4 ARTWORK SPECIFICS

These are all reasonably straightforward.

a. Origin - Please mention the origin as specifically as possible. Geographica region or cultural origin both work here. Based on this, your listing will be shown in various collections when prospective buyers come visiting.
b. Estimated Age - Enter the estimated age e.g. 30-40 years. If you are not sure, it is better to be conservative  in your estimation. As we expect knowledgeable visitors on the site, a very liberal estimate will only affect the credibility of the listing negatively.
c. Craft - Enter 'weaving' or 'embroidery' etc
d. Size - Measure and enter in centimeters or inches.
e. Condition Report Please examine the piece prior to listing from end to end and state the condition of the textile.
f. Damage and Shortcomings This data is essential to the buying decision and Sellers must provide all the details at the time of listing. Do look for tears, frayed threads, thread loss, missing bits, color issues, stains, overrun repairs etc and report it in this field. An accurate report will eliminate the need for tedious and expensive returns.
g. Item Location State the country that the item will be shipped from.

6. SUBMISSION

With all these details fed in, the listing can be submitted.

Please make sure to fill in all the fields before clicking on the maroon SUBMIT button as the data is not saved in case of errors.

6b. EDITS

NOTE:

1) All details can be editted later except the price.

2) All details except PRICE can be edited by the Seller. On account of some technicality, a change in price can be done only by admin so please write to me and I will change that for you.

7. LISTING FEE PAYMENT

After the  listing is submitted you will receive a 'Listing Approved' email.

Approvals will be processed once a week, on Tuesdays.

8. LISTING ENHANCEMENT

After the listing fee is paid,  we add tags to the listing and put the listing in various relevant collections on The Heirloom Bazaar.

9. THE LISTING IS PUBLISHED & VISIBLE

All new listings are published on The Heirloom Bazaar on the following Tuesday and Friday. We need two days to process the listing on our end after the listing has been submitted and paid for.

Select listings are also published on the sister-galleries - wovensouls.com & wovensouls.org for added exposure.

10. STANDARD MARKETING

The listing now receives the standard marketing exposure.

If Optional Promos have been requested, the listing is then promoted as per the discussions.
