Rare Original Clarence Stoody Photograph. Pencil signed “Stoody”. Pollanaruaw Ancient City in Ceylon (Sri Lanka).

Stoody's photographs from the Asian Theater (WW2) have never been published. Stoody, a professional photographer, served in the US Armed Services, Signal Corps, Asian Theater. Many of Stoody's photos were taken in Kunming China (the terminus of the Burma Road and station for the Flying Tigers and subsequently home of the 14th Air Force) and in Ceylon (now SriLanka). National Geographic featured the work of the Army Signal Corps in an article that was written contemporaneously with Stoody's service in Kunming. Subsequent to his military service he setup a photography studio in Tucson, AZ. He was featured in Life Magazine, September 1, 1950. Stoody was a native of Tucson, AZ.
