Finely Woven Khmer (Cambodian) Silk Weft Ikat. Circa 1970s. 34.5” x 70”, 87.6cm x 177.8cm. Weft weave on silk thread. Beautifully executed design of interlocking diamonds with a broad, intricate border of triangles. Fabric weight and length suggests an over-cloth or a man’s ceremonial hip cloth. But is also suitable as a songket sarong. This textile was acquired by the seller 25 years ago.
