114-017 A Royal Gold Mamuli

Large gold mamuli bearing humans and animals are part of a nobleman’s heirloom and thus considered sacred. This magnificent example belonged to the late raja (ruler) of Pau village. As befitting a royalty, the mamuli is finely executed with a remarkable level of detail at the base of the mamuli which depicts warriors mounted on a horse, each brandishing a sword.
