Rare Figurative Hanging Phulkari from Punjab with figures and architectural mtoifs
Lion motifs present.
Used as ceremonial offerings to Shia Saints in the Deccan region (Hyderabad).
Crafted in the style of Phulkaris and therefore may have some linkage to artisans in the North.
Has some damage & repairs.
Estimated to be from the early 1900s
This item has spent a lifetime being used for the purpose of its creation with the original artist/user. Signs of this life lived heartily may be present on the piece in the form of stains, thread loss, loose threads, holes, tears, color run and other imperfections.
